This blog is designed to capture as many family recipes as possible. I have often heard people going on about some dish some relative used to make, but the relative has popped their clogs, or cant remember or changes the recipes (Like Barbs famous Lasagne!!!) and now the dish is lost to everyone.
I thought it would be nice to capture and share as many family (and extended family) recipes as possible.
Also, where almost everyone has a laptop nowadays it may also serve as a simple resource when you are having one of those "what will we eat tonight" brain aches. :-)
Q: How do i use it?
A: Sign in/Log on
- Sign in using your google account (if you dont have one)
- Book mark http://therussellsrecipes.blogspot.com/
- Start posting up recipes. Dont agonise about formatting them perfectly, just get them posted.
- In the top right corner of the screen click New Post
- Give your recipe a Title
- Give your recipe a Description. Include who/how/where you learned it.
- Provide a list of Ingredients and some Directions. (Use as much or as little detail as you like.)
- Add some Labels in the bottom right corned of the edit pane. These are used to categorise the recipes.
a) Example 1. Mum's Tuna Casserole would have the following Labels; Tuna, Casserole, Russell. This will allow anyone looking for recipes to find it in the Tuna or Casserole or Russell section.
b) Example 2. Barb's Lasagne would have the Labels; Pasta, Lasagne, Denham.
A: So far we have invited our (me and Kristy) extended families to post recipes. All of the posts are visible to the whole world...though i doubt the rest of the world would be that interested :)
Q: Can i add pictures of recipes etc?
A: Add pictures and links and any content you like...as always if posting pictures of anyone but yourself, you need to get their permission - lets avoid any family fallouts :)
Q: What if i want to correct or add or comment on some one elses recipes?
A: Use the Comments link under neath each recipe post.
